About us

Theater Muto is a Belgian-Flemisch circuscompanie founded by Stef Geers. Our performances are wordless, mute, non-verbal, with origins from the silent movie (Italy). In our contemporary way, we combine clowning, object manipulation and humour.

Fien Geers  published her own collection of poems, plays with spoken word and creates lyrics for cabaret artists. She has now also caught the non-verbal microbe with the father-daughter performanceg ‘Nest’. Like everyone at Theatre Muto, she helps build sets and props. She is training as a furniture upholsterer.

Kobe Ruysen is our in-house photographer, does the graphic design for the performances and is jack-of-all-trades, our third eye.

Lieve Lenaers is  the ‘mother hen’ of the group. She keeps the overview, guards the bigger picture and makes sure we keep both feet firmly on the ground, even with our heads in the clouds.
